A Construction specialist with 35 years industry experience in Civil Engineering. He is qualified to NOCN-Cskills Awards Level 7 NVQ Diploma, Construction Senior Management.
Throughout his career, Dave has amassed a varied portfolio of skills ranging from Site Management, through to Company Director in a multitude of disciplines, Civil Engineering and Building.
Dave has many years’ diverse experience including Landfill Engineering, Microtunnelling, Horizontal Directional Drilling, BSF programmes and nationwide, mobile infrastructure maintenance.
His last role was operations Director with Carter Accommodation, providing support to the construction industry with dedicated site accommodation, responsible for all areas, production, transport, installation, maintenance and removal, providing a full “Turnkey” package
Keith Horkan: Operations Director and Head of Centre.
Keith commenced his career as an Apprentice Bricklayer, whilst also gaining experience in variety of other trades, working as a Plasterer and Paviour at times. Keith has recently returned to the practical side of his skills and is running a small but successful Construction Company.
In 1990, Keith embarked upon a career in Construction Crafts training. Keith served as a Trainer, Assessor and Lead IQA for several Training Initiatives. Eventually becoming an EQA, he has worked for four different Awarding Organisations. Keith was the National Qualifications Manager for Cskills Awards at CITB, responsible for all the EQAs at CITB, the four Nations and also the international business for CITB.
Keith joined NOCN in 2017 as Head of Quality Assurance and was responsible for all Quality Assurance matters relating to NOCN’s Qualifications. In his time at NOCN, Keith was proud of his record, having a good relationship with all the Regulators including Ofqual. He was hard on Organised Crime and ensured that NOCN were safe in all their vocational qualification activities.
As well as his Construction business, Keith is busy supporting other Centres as IQA and Director of Quality, Keith wishes to return something positive to the industry that nurtured him and is adamant that the “Learner Journey” at KDH, is one that is enjoyable for the Learner and allows the Learner to grow and develop whilst on programme. He is clear that training and assessment centres can be successful by providing excellent service to customers and learners.
About Us
We offer a wide range of vocational qualifications at level 2 and 3 NVQ and also offer Supervisory NVQs in Supervision at level 3 and 4. There are a wide range of Managerial NVQs at levels 6 and 7.
Advice will be given to all learners in order to maximise CITB Grant Funding. Wherever possible, funding for NVQs and other qualifications will be raised to support learners.
Our Training facility in West Norfolk is set in idyllic scenery including a fishing lake, stock pond and is located in quiet gardens and makes for a conducive learning environment.
Many of our NVQs on offer are the usual and traditional type of vocation such as Concreting NVQ, Bricklaying NVQ, Plastering NVQ and we also offer Niche NVQs such as Tunnelling NVQ and Directional Drilling NVQs. This will be of particular use to Operatives wishing to work on large infrastructure projects such as Sizewell C.
KDH also offer a full suite of Educational Qualifications in Training, Assessment, Internal Quality Assurance (IQA), External Quality Assurance (EQA) and even in Leading the Internal and External Quality Assurance Processes (LIQA and LEQA). All learners on the educational programmes will receive substantial training in their relative subject before commencing on the qualification and after commencement on programme will be under the wing of an experienced mentor.
The Team at KDH Training have 59 years managerial experience between them, 84 years Construction and Civil Engineering experience and 33 years educational Service to learners from all walks of life.
The Site Right programmes and Training are delivered from our own purpose-built facility and in the location that is required by our learners. For instance, KDH staff have visited Construction Sites and provided Training there.
We have also taken our programmes across the Nation to Training Centres and delivered in our Customer’s locations.
We are in positive partnerships with other Training Centres and Training Personnel enabling capacity to deliver any and all NVQ qualification.

Our future will include more qualifications relating to the Environment, this will include Retrofit qualifications. Information Technology (IT) is an area that we are considering exploring and offering as there is a clear need for this Training.
Every learner that commences with us will embark on a Learning Journey that will see our learners leave as better and improved individuals, compared to when they commenced with us. We are proud to say that our learners are stretched and challenged but this is done within a supportive bubble that gives all our learners their best chance to succeed.
